What is Puckjunkie.com?

Puckjunkie.com is the brainchild of four professionals who love hockey - especially fantasy hockey. In April 1998 three of these "puckjunkies" (we'll call them Jeremy, Chris and Jonathan) had their first discussion about what needed to be done in the world of fantasy hockey. It started out over botched trade discussions for the roto-hockey league they were in, moved to bemoaning the lack of "fantasy focused" information out there, and ended with a pledge to change that. They approached another puckjunkie later (we'll call him Scott) and the rest is history.

Have they realized their dream? Absolutely not. Their dream will not be realized until they can provide 24 hour real-time fantasy hockey information to their guests. But for now, they're happy to offer analysis, projections, predictions and rumours to Fantasy Hockey enthusiasts worldwide.

What Do We Offer?

Currently we focus on analyzing information. Want to know about a trade, free agent signing, or key rumour? We're your source. As well, we have made our projections in every major category for the Top 500 players in the league. We have also recruited a stable of contributors to provide weekly updates on every team in the NHL.

We want to focus on providing credible, unbiased analysis in a well-written and fun to read format.

To that end have a look at what we've got so far:

Regular columns such as "Rink Rant", our fantasy hockey "take" on events around the league, "Chicks in the Pool" focusing on the under-represented women in Fantasy Hockey, "Get with the System", which looks at the systems employed by NHL teams and how that can affect their stats (and your pool numbers), and "It's in the Cards" our take on the hockey card collectibles industry with some crossover related to Fantasy Hockey.
Our Predictions are not only raw statistics but also analysis of events and rumoured events and what impact they could have on your fantasy team. We dig deeper than your local newspaper or radio. We don't just report a wire story - we analyze it to death.
Regular features including our "Fantasy Tipster", the "Rumour du Jour", our overview of the latest floating around the wire, and the "M.A.S.H. Unit" our unique rating system for fantasy injuries and recommendations for who'll suffer and benefit (one man's pain is another's gain!) from the injury.
